Standing On Holy Ground

June 5th 2025

We were pleased to be able to hold an evening event at St John the Baptist Church, Pawlett, on Good Friday ’25 , perhaps one of the most significant days in the Christian calendar on which we can quietly contemplate what took place at Calvary, but also to celebrate our great Redeemer for, 2,000 years later, even on Good Friday Jesus is Risen! Great to have Laura with us for an evening of songs, stories and reflections.

A Celebration of Christmas

June 5th 2025

In December ’24, the Screaming Donkeys squeezed themselves into St John the Baptist Parish Church, Pawlett, for another festive bash through a repertoire of old and new carols and Christmas favourites. Fuelled by plenty of mince pies and mulled wine, this is most likely our favourite gig of the year and a good time was had by all. We even included our impossible-to-play new rendering of Ding Dong Merrily On High which will hopefully be somewhere on YouTube by Christmas ’25.

Heaven, Hell & The Afterlife

June 5th 2025

In November 24 we welcomed a group from a local church for a day’s Bible Study retreat. The subject they gave us was ‘Heaven, Hell and the Afterlife’. Not too much to cover there then! Certainly lots for everyone to think about.

If you’re interested in coming to My Father’ House for a church retreat or Bible study get in touch using the Contact Form. We can either provide the theme/subject for the day or will consider something you specifically request.

Pawlett Harvest Supper Gig

June 5th 2025

Pawlett Harvest Supper 2024 saw some of the Donkey’s performing a bunch of sing-a-long hits from the 60’s and 70’s to an appreciative crowd. As usual, we found the song most people sing with the greatest vigour is ‘Hi Ho Silver Lining’.

Premier Radio

September 3rd 2024

In April ’24 we were interviewed by Simon Ward of Premier Christian Radio for his ever-popular Sunday morning show.

You can listen to an abridged version of our life-stories, squeezed into a convivial 45 minutes, on the About page of this website.

Spring Harvest – Le Pas Opton

September 3rd 2024

In May ’24, and for the third year running, we were pleased to lead worship for a week at Spring Harvest’s
holiday resort in Le Pas Opton, France, together with Clive Burnard who provided some great Bible studies.

A brilliant location for a relaxing holiday with an additional spiritual dynamic.

Find out more about Spring Harvest Holidays here.

YouTube Views

September 3rd 2024

We are astonished that a couple of the Screaming Donkeys’ YouTube videos have now far exceeded expectations in terms of views. The Old Rugged Cross seems an unlikely hit but has reached almost 15K views and Goodness of God is over 21K. See what all the excitement is about and watch the other videos here.

The Writing On The Wall

September 3rd 2024

We are promoting The Writing On The Wall at CRE in Oct ‘24 this year.

Copies of the full piano/vocal score and audio CD are available at the special price of £10 for both during CRE week.

It’s a great show, re-telling epic Biblical stories in a humorous and lively way – and it’s a lot of fun to take part in too! As Phil Mann, our musical director, was later to observe, “With over 100 people involved, giving their time, talent and energy to the production in one way or another, I do not think there was any other initiative that had a more beneficial effect in terms of building up unity and fellowship within the church.”

Prayer & Praise

September 3rd 2024

David & Melanie will be taking part in the Bath & Wells Diocese’ 24-hour wave of prayer in September by leading a service of prayer and praise at St John the Baptist Church, Pawlett.

The Screaming Donkeys

September 3rd 2024

It’s tricky to get the ‘Donkeys together given that we live in at least three counties, but we’re pleased to be doing a mini-gig to support the local church Harvest Supper in September, playing for a wedding in Canterbury in October and doing a full festive gig on 13th December at St John the Baptist Church, Pawlett.
